Story

Our inspirational CEO, Dr Emma Egging, is taking on her own JET10 challenge in 2021, to shine a spotlight on the vital work that we do in our 10th anniversary year.

Emma's 10 events began with a gruelling Grantham Canal Ultramarathon on April 18th, and will culminate in the London Marathon in October.

Emma's next challenge is taking on a four-hour underground scramble in the UK’s largest cave system at Ease Gill in the Yorkshire Dales. Set to include tight squeezes, free climbs and cascades into the main stream-way, Emma says: “Every challenge I’ve taken on this year, from my 33-mile ultramarathon back in April to my caving scramble this October, has forced me to step out of my comfort zone and ‘feel the fear’ of doing something new and challenging. That's what we ask of our young people at JET too, many of whom have faced significant life challenges that have been the catalyst for them losing confidence and focus at school.

Each event she is undertaking represents a personal challenge to Emma, and she needs your support more than ever.
